January 26th, 2009Caity in the farm
Yesterday we attended a burial of my dad’s relative in Bago. It’s a rural part of Negros Occidental located 21 kilometers south of Bacolod City.
Beside the cemetery was a wide piece of farmland. I think they have just harvested the rice crops. Anyway, the land was dry which made a good place for Caity to run around.
You can tell she’s ecstatic!

Big smile with food crumbs on her lips! =)
Exploring the farm…
Stumbling on a dead wild flower plant, oblivious to the animal grazing on the grass…

“Ano ni man?”
She finally noticed the animal!

“Oh look! There’s an animal over there!”

“What kind of an animal is that?”
It’s a carabao or water buffalo, the national animal of the Philippines. They help farmers in tilling the land. They are also used to haul farm produce to the market. They’re the farmers’ best friends!

Hello,
I googled some pictures of a Filipino farmer on a carabao and I was intrigued of the picture with a filename farm4.static.flickr.com.
When I enlarged, it brought me to your blog. So I thought I would leave something for you to peruse. Just to tell you how delightful to see a pretty cute girl taking her adventure on a farm.
I wonder if you will give me permission to use any of your pictures to use in my poem: Land, Man and Weather.
You can check it on the web address above.
I am truly delighted. Meanwhile, I favourited your website to come back to see more at another time.
Smiling here and thank you very much.
