Caity’s grandparents came in the afternoon of the 24th, and we only prepared Christmas Eve appetizers as they plan to have dinner in their home, after the gifts have been opened.

She is all ready to attack the food!
After the meal, Bába (grandma) huddled both kids @ little bro’s room, while M brought in the Christmas from the balcony where we hid it out from the children’s reach. Děda (grandpa) and I helped placed all the gifts ’round the tree. Once everything was ready, the light in the room was turned off leaving the Christmas lights blinking in the dark. Then M rang the bell, signalling that *Ježíšek (baby Jesus) came and left gifts for everyone. Czech children are made to believe that the gift-giver is baby Jesus, not Santa Claus.

The kids ran to the living room and tadannnn! They were in awe with all the gifts they saw, especially Caity. “Vánoce!!!” (Christmas!) She excitedly shouted.

With little bro, who was too occupied with eating the chocolate he got from the tree, oblivious to the surprises awaiting for him to unwrap.
We made one of Caity’s wishes come true. She got a scooter! And she also got another bike, this time with pedals! Weeee! Lots of ride-on toys for her this year.

Outfit:
Maroon dress – Youngland (which looked similar to the cloth hugging the Christmas tree base, duh!!!)
Hearts stockings – C&A
Glitter flats – H&M

It was hard to make the kids go to bed that night, coz all they wanted was to play with their new toys. Caity slept with the scooter by her bedside.

The next day, Christmas, we had a brunch at Hotel Hoffmeister Restaurant with the grandparents…

Outfit:
Tunic top – Okay
Jeans – Next
Boots – Nelliblu
Caity was busy playing in their kids’ area to even bother to eat…

…hugging the white dog which she wanted to bring home.
“Only borrow, Mama...”. she begged. Of course, the toy had to stay.

Finally, she got hungry and eat.

We went home after we’re all stuffed with the buffet style brunch, and the kids all worn out from their messed up nap schedules. Later at night, we attended the Christmas Mass and Caity was too excited to say hello and thank you to baby Jesus for all the gifts she got. Thank you Lord, for the gifts!
Whew! All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas and holidays spent with family and friends, that is why Kids’ Style is posting late. Sorry! The kids were happy with what they received, so M and I declared our Christmas shopping a success.
