August 30th, 2011Caity’s 4th birthday

What’s summer without water? Exactly the reason why we decided to hold Caity’s birthday in an outdoor pool, which turned out to be a failure coz it was 17-19C with forecast of rainfall in the afternoon.  We went ahead with the plan though, as there is an indoor pool anyway for those who wanted to swim. Unfortunately, they don’t have pools for kids inside. But the kids braved the cold weather and still had fun outside. The weather proved to be a blessing in disguise coz we had the whole place to ourselves. Usually, on hot days the place is jampacked with people, you can barely move. So it looked like we reserved the place exclusively for our group. Bongga!

It was past 4 when we ended, still a bit early. The group was looking for a place to hang out. Friend Angie was kind enough to offer her place as the others including me were hesitant to receive guests with all of us having the same excuses – messy house!  It did rain in the afternoon and our friends got all soaked while waiting for the bus to Angie’s place.

So the party continued…

When we got home, Caity opened her “surprise” from us. (:

Eyes closed, waiting for the surprise.

Happy girl!

The shopping cart didn’t make it on time! Sayang. Until now, we’re still waiting for notice from post office.
Anyway, ’twas a happy birthday for our little Caity!  Thanks to everyone who took part in our simple celebration!

Lookie!!! We’re joining May’s Colorful Weekend for the first time:

August 30th, 2010The day she turned 3

Caity has already turned three years old!

We celebrated Our little bubbly girl’s birthday by having a family day out. We had brunch at Jollibee SM, the usual favorite among Filipino kids. Then she had a blast with the mall rides – the carousel and the choo-choo train. She’d wave at the people she’d pass by, feeling like a superstar.

We had ice cream and sandwiches for afternoon snacks which we ate at the ES office coz mom had a meeting there.

Of course a birthday wouldn’t be complete (a family tradition) without attending a Mass. We were able to catch the 6 pm one in Bacolod Cathedral, though we were few minutes late. Then we went back to SM. Dinner was at Bigby’s. The crew sang a birthday song for Caity. but I guess she was surprised when they suddenly appeared behind her, which made her upset. She was angrily saying “No birthday!” with a grumpy look much to the amusement of the other diners. They gave her a piece of a cake with a candle. That was Caity’s 3rd year birthday cake!!! Don’t worry Caity girl, next year you’ll have a big one. :)

It was a tiring day. We spent more than 12 hours out from home. Caity was very sleepy by the time we got home, having missed her afternoon nap but she definitely enjoyed the day.

After the English Solemn Mass there was a little gathering at the courtyard of Our Lady of Victory Church, the official residence of the Infant Jesus of Prague (Prazske Jezulatko).

Caity was just too happy to be outside…

March 27th, 2009Turning 19 months old

Since Caity’s nasal problem and the unpredictable weather hasn’t improved yet (sometimes it’s sunny, sometimes it’s rainy!), I’m still keeping her under “house arrest”. And worse, I’m not feeling good either.

Today she turned 19 months old! =) I let the poor kid have fun with water to celebrate this special day. hehe

Splash!!!

Sorry no cake for you Caity dear.  Mom is feeling a bit sick. =(

Caity turned 1.5 y/o or 18 months yesterday. Weee! Our baby is growing up so fast! She babbles a lot, like she’s storytelling.  Too bad I can’t understand her yet.  But I can tell she’ll be a little chatterbox once she learns how to talk.  There are times she surprises me by using words I didn’t know she knows.

August 27th, 2008Happy 1st birthday Caity!

happy birthday
Everyone is invited!!!

Caity’s birthday started quite early than her ordinary days. We attended the 8 am Mass. Since it’s the feast day of St. Monica (the mother of St. Augustine), the priest said that the Mass celebration is dedicated to all the mothers who sacrificed and prayed for their children. He further said that their prayers might not be answered immediately (in case of St. Monica, her prayers were answered after 18 years) … So today is for both of us, mother and child.

Thank you Lord for this special day!
