We went on a weekday and there weren’t any activities for the kids to do, but the plain sight of the pumpkins got Caity all excited and happy already. She was in awe looking at the piles of colorful pumpkins on display. “Can I touch this? Can I buy this?” In the end she chose a small round pumpkin for herself and later on came with a much smaller one “This is for Adie“. What a thoughtful big sis!
There were no real tractors and wagons around but Caity and her little bro enjoyed taking turns riding in the toys vehicles they have.
I heard they also have chicken and turkeys but we only saw the rabbits. The cute bunnies were enough to bring a smile to Caity’s face.
One pumpkin for Caity. One pumpkin for Adie.
On the way home, we stopped at a small store to buy refreshments. Behind it was a small park with lots foliage bursting in colors of golden yellow, burnt orange, reddish brown… a pretty sight! We sat on a bench and munched on our food while enjoying the beautiful show of nature – leaves falling at every blow of the wind, and the crackling sound they make with every little steps the kids made.
Just gotta share this photo of Caity sitting on a log amidst the green covered ground with blooms of yellow dandelions and white wild daisies popping out. It’s so Spring! It’s so magical!!!! It was taken during our walk to a nearby forest with my new friend. I was captivated by the enchanting sight so I asked my friend to sit there while I take her picture and Caity also requested to have hers taken. “Me also!!!” Yeah, she now asks for it!
After the English Solemn Mass there was a little gathering at the courtyard of Our Lady of Victory Church, the official residence of the Infant Jesus of Prague (Prazske Jezulatko).
We brought her to the Dendrological Garden where she tried eating a dried leaf, explored what’s behind the bushes, chased ducks, gathered pine cones and did a lot of other amusing things! She really enjoyed her day there and we also enjoyed watching her having fun.
Dad’s relative owns plenty of chickens, also game cocks (chicken used for cockfighting) much to Caity’s amusement. She was so happy to see many chickens which she fondly chased around.
Running towards the chicken. Yeeeehaaaaaa! Here I come!!!
O-oh! She fell on the ground and we all came rushing to her rescue including the one taking photos (ME!). That explains why there’s no pic of that. I’m glad she wasn’t hurt at all.
No pain eh?
But just a little complaint… My hands are all dirty now.
Caity’s new friends:
The guys taking care of these game cocks jokingly predicted that Caity might become a sabungera when she grows up coz she’s very fond of chickens. Tag-iya guro sang manokan para asal! hehe
Yesterday we attended a burial of my dad’s relative in Bago. It’s a rural part of Negros Occidental located 21 kilometers south of Bacolod City.
Beside the cemetery was a wide piece of farmland. I think they have just harvested the rice crops. Anyway, the land was dry which made a good place for Caity to run around.
You can tell she’s ecstatic!
Big smile with food crumbs on her lips! =)
Exploring the farm…
Ma haciendera ka Caite?
Stumbling on a dead wild flower plant, oblivious to the animal grazing on the grass… “Ano ni man?”
Posing… “I like this place!”
She finally noticed the animal! “Oh look! There’s an animal over there!”
“What kind of an animal is that?”
It’s a carabao or water buffalo, the national animal of the Philippines. They help farmers in tilling the land. They are also used to haul farm produce to the market. They’re the farmers’ best friends!
